Since 2024, I have resumed making in Ishikawa. At the same time, as a regional revitalization cooperator based in the Uchikawa district of Kanazawa, I have also been working with bamboo in this area surrounded by bamboo groves, under the theme of “looking closely at the origins of making.”

Tending the bamboo groves throughout the year, living surrounded by nature, and coming to know what nature produces — I have even run a diner serving bamboo-shoot dishes myself. Through these activities, I have come to understand the importance of the cycles and stewardship of natural materials, as well as how materials are produced and processed, and they have become opportunities to put this into practice.
