Today, all kinds of things are easy to get hold of — yet opportunities to encounter the materials they're made from, or the way they're made, are surprisingly rare. In this workshop, you'll touch metal directly: hammering, bending, and polishing it with your own hands to make a piece.
The difficulty of things not going the way you planned, the delight of watching a form gradually emerge. The sense of accomplishment when a piece is finished, and the feeling of having truly made it yourself. The workshop is about experiencing the process of making, itself.
Through this time together, I hope it becomes a chance to see the things around you from a slightly different angle, and to begin paying attention to materials and design.
Children to adults, complete beginners welcome — please join us with ease.
